While the storyline wasn't the deepest or most thought through of stories, then the movie does wrap up the story of L quite nicely in the wake of 'Death Note' and 'Death Note: The Last Name'.Important disclaimer: is part of new ETTV group. If you watched the previous movies mostly for the death gods Ryuk and/or Rem, then there is very Little for you to get excited about in 'L: Change the World'. And, personally, I found it to be a treat that Tatsuya Fujiware (who played Light in the previous movies) wasn't appearing in this movie. And with this actor in the lead you kind of tend not to focus too much about the lack of a deeper storyline.

As with the previous movies, despite this being a stand-alone movie, then Ken'ichi Matsuyama carried the role of L with flair and perfection. It was certainly better than the first 'Death Note' movie, but I will say that it was approximately as entertaining as 'Death Note: The Last Name' (part two of the movies), but lacking a bit in its story. this is likely to be a considerable disappointment.ДЄs much as I do like the L character from the 'Death Note' franchise, then this movie just didn't offer as much as I had hoped for. (Nor even adult-worthy, for that matter.) If you enjoyed Death Note and consider it one of the most original movies ever made. Parental warning: this should by no means be considered a family-worthy film. As much as I like this actor, even he couldn't pull this one out of the dumpster. and not nearly good enough to be Death Note. This is a poor effort- poor enough that I give it my rare 1-star two-thumbs down rating that I usually reserve for the worst of schlock movies. This movie is a contrived, violent, gory and foul-mouthed (at least in the translations) insult to the legacy of the Death Note series. When Wai returns he finds he cannot be a permanent part of their lives and their once happy family is poisoned by resentment which leads to a tragic outcome. Desperate to earn money, Wai becomes a member of the triads and commits a crime so serious he must flee Hong Kong and leave Elisa and their daughter behind to face the cruelty of society alone. Elisa soon gives birth to a baby girl after the two move in together but life isn't easy. We are taken to 1997 and meet 15 year-old Elisa (Hanna CHAN), an innocent and naive girl who has fallen in love with Wai (Tony WU), a decent guy with a motorbike and few prospects. When he books a young woman named Daisy (Carol TO) for drug possession, the memory of an earlier case that derailed his career emerges.

The story begins in recent times with Sergeant Fai (Ronald CHENG), a grizzled cop who is on the verge of retirement. It's a tragic case of history repeating as two cases twenty years apart find their connections in people who were abandoned by their parents.
